Title: The Reaching Out One
Author: [livejournal.com profile] alex51324
Reader: [personal profile] luzula
Fandom: due South
Pairing: Fraser/Kowalski
Rating: NC-17
Length: 6 h 10 m 35 s
Author's summary: It's ten years after the events of CoTW (in other words, the present day). After the Quest, Fraser and Ray went back to their regular lives--Fraser as a Mountie in Deline, NWT and Ray as a detective in Chicago, IL. Every year they take their vacation time together and look for the hand of Franklin, the reaching out one, and when they run out of time they put a pin in the map and the next year they pick up where they left off. The story begins when Diefenbaker dies and the whole house of cards crumbles. Ray and Fraser have an adventure, confront their feelings, and rebuild their lives on a more solid foundation.

Notes: This is a post-CotW story that feels fresh and new, and I love it to pieces. I'm afraid the recording is a bit uneven, though. I first started it back in October last year, but then I had a cold that lasted for five months, and then came Amplificathon. Now that I listen to the bits I did last fall, I notice that my reading style has changed, partly because of taking singing lessons, and partly because I've speeded up a bit. Also, I've been moving around, so there are different acoustics in different parts of the story. But I don't seem to have the energy to re-record the first half (especially since I already had to do some re-recording because of lost files). Whew, this was a long project. Thanks to the author for letting me record it!

Download part one and part two at Sendspace. (It's in eight mp3 files, but I can't upload it all in one zip file--it's too big.)

Title: Sixteenth of June
Author: [personal profile] resonant
Reader: [personal profile] luzula
Fandom: due South
Pairing: Fraser/Kowalski
Rating: NC-17
Length: 1 h 14 m 26 s
Author's summary: Fraser keeps an eye on Ray for signs of a broken heart.
Notes: This one's a classic. I think the part I enjoyed most here was doing an impression of Bob Fraser singing "Danny Boy" pitched too high for his voice. *g* Thanks to the author for the blanket permission!

Title: Quiet In Drowning
Author: [personal profile] nos
Reader: [personal profile] luzula
Fandom: Wilby Wonderful
Characters: Duck, Buddy, OMCs
Rating: NC-17
Length: 57 m 07 s
Author's warning: This story contains graphic, violent and disturbing subject matter, including non-con.
Author's summary: It rained the morning Duck McDonald left home.
Notes: This is not exactly a happy story, but there's hope at the end, and I can imagine that something like this did happen to Duck. I hope I did it justice. Thanks to the author for letting me record it!

The Reaching Out One kept me quietly and peacefully entertained on my bike commute to work and back, I thought it was kind of fascinating and that the evolution of the relationship was very natural and believable. Thanks for recording this, it's probably something I wouldn't have read but loved as a podfic by you!

You are cool as anything!

I was this (><) close to a journal rant (except I have about ten other posts first) about how there's no new podfic in all the world and I'm so tired and I can't sit up and read anymore and why can't I just lie on the bed and have someone read to me and blah blah blah.

*hugs and thanks and also, yay*

OMG, Luz! You're amazing!

With these podfics the current decluttering of my appartment and basement is going to be much easier and more fun. Thank you! <3

Oh, Luz, I can't thank you enough. This has shaped up to be a difficult month, with a few more weeks of yuckiness to to get past. What a gift to have these readings available.

*squeeeee!*

Thanks again! Btw, any thoughts of reading the sequel to "quiet in drowning"? Though, I'm terrified to realize that, now that [livejournal.com profile] nos4a2no9's website is down, I can't find it at all. . .

Yes indeed -- but the story I was thinking of (my favorite WW fic of all time) isn't *anywhere* on either of her journals, that I can find. I finally tracked it down off of [livejournal.com profile] crack_van ([livejournal.com profile] luzula herself recc'd it). It's "Unsent" and it's at the due south big bang website: http://slowestbigbang.com/storypages/nos_u.html

OMG Luz! Thank you! Also thank you for the lovely postcard. LICHEN! Fraser would be...hungry! :) Thanks so much for the note. I am really out of the loop right now, and I loved hearing from you. And you were up at the top of the world all alone! Fraser would be PROUD! (Also probably envious! :)

And now I can haz new podfic! You simply ROCK, my dear.

I am sorry I haven't been around. The art cave and several other areas of the house are seriously under construction. It's going to be amazing, but at the moment, it is raining in my studio. *cries* The roof is getting done this week...or else we're building an Ark, I don't know. Mother Nature picks now to end the drought? I just. I can't even....

And school starts in less than 2 weeks. I am so deluged (yeah, not even really a pun, sad to say) it's not funny...but it's good. I'm just unable to participate here right now. But I'll be back. Still have new art to post and stuff like that, it's just been delayed a bit.

I miss everyone so much! Your podfic will comfort me, as it always does. Thank you so much.
