A while ago, [livejournal.com profile] kill_claudio wrote a set of post-CotW haikus, Shattered Light, which really stayed with me. They are so wistful and longing, and Fraser's willingness to settle for what he can get just breaks my heart. The images in them are gorgeous, and there's an entire story in just these few words.

So I set the poem to music, and [livejournal.com profile] kill_claudio gave me permission to post it here. I sing the melody, and my sister plays guitar and sings harmony. I'm actually pretty happy with this recording, unlike the last song I posted (The Unquiet Grave, for the Genre Challenge at [livejournal.com profile] ds_flashfiction) where I had to rush to make a recording before the challenge ended.

Running time: 1.37 minutes
Format: 16 MB, WAV (sorry about not making it an MP3, but something strange happened with the quality when I tried that)

I loved this! You did a wonderful job with the variations of each verse. The music is sad and haunting, and I know it will stick in my head for days. The words were beautiful to begin with, and you have made them more so. Also, as an ex choir nerd, your harmonies kick ass!
