Aug. 6th, 2011 10:08 amHappy birthday, Ande! I wish you many good things today and in the year to come. *hugs you tight*
I hope you like this! I even did stealthy research (via Aka) to see if you were a fan of crossdressing. : )
Title: Volcanic Geranium
Author:
zelempa
Reader:
luzula
Fandom: due South
Pairing: Fraser/Kowalski
Rating: R
Length: 2 h 21 m 36 s
Author's summary: Fraser raised his eyebrows thoughtfully. "Lipstick colour names can be rather obscure. I assume it's a metaphor to describe something fragile and lovely but also dangerous and potentially capable of raining hot destruction upon an unsuspecting citizenry. On the other hand, it may refer to the fact that this particular coral shade is common to molten lava and geraniums. Don't lick it."
"It tastes like Jujubes," Ray reported.
"Nevertheless, resist the urge."
Notes: Oof, this one was a challenge. The very thing I love about this story--the comedy and the snappy dialogue--was what made it hard to record. I don't think I've ever done so many retakes. Still, it's fun to stretch yourself and try something new. Thanks to the author for letting me record it!

Date: 2011-08-07 09:05 am (UTC)I actually loved doing Amy's dialogue! It was so much fun trying for that rebellious spoiled teenager tone. Stella arguing with Ray was also a lot of fun--it felt very natural, because Ray really is being stalkery and she must be so tired of it.
It doesn't seem like something I wrote - it seems like something real, if that makes sense.
I've totally felt like that when I've heard other people reading my stories, too!
yay!
Date: 2011-08-17 06:31 pm (UTC)1) You're the best
and
2) You spoil us terribly, for which we're so grateful.
Thanks for both of our gifts! I'm trying to tempt Ande into listening to the M&C one even if she doesn't really know the characters, and your reading might be enough inducement.
Love to you, hon
V

Date: 2013-08-21 07:02 pm (UTC)Or, well, that should work, but I'm not getting any hits for it. Weird, the search must be wonky somehow. Well, one thing that will always work when you want to find a podfic of mine is to go to my podfic index (linked in the sidebar) and click on the podfic there, and it'll take you to the amplificathon post, where there's a permanent link in the comments.
