YAY!!!

I got my dream job this summer! I'll be working for a month at a research station in the far north of Sweden. I was there last summer visiting a friend who worked there, and sort of fell in love with the place. It's a valley at about a thousand meters altitude, and the work consists of hiking around the mountains doing whatever field work they need to have done. It could be operating a weather measurement station, doing botanical inventories, measuring snow depth as it melts away, etc. Apparently I'll get to do some rock climbing for a project on cliff ecology, as well. No internet (or phones or electricity for that matter), but I'm sure I can cope with that.

*jumps up and down in excitement*

Yeah, it'll be great! *still totally excited* Maybe I can get some writing done, too, if I get used to doing it longhand.

Thank you! Yeah, I actually love doing fieldwork (though I'm sure I only say that because I've never spent months and months doing it).

Yup, it really is! I'm looking forward to it so much. I'll have to print out some stories and take with me so I don't suffer from fan fiction withdrawal, though.

Don't worry, I have a harness and stuff that I know how to use (though I've only done tree-climbing with it, never rock-climbing). But one of the other guys working there is a climbing instructor, so I feel pretty safe. (Though I kind of regret telling my mom that I'd be climbing...)
