Dear Yuletide writer!

luzulaI am so excited for Yuletide this year, and I would be equally thrilled with any request that got filled! I tried to give a sense of my tastes in each fandom, but please don't feel constrained by any of the specific suggestions. Just have fun writing and I am sure I will love it!
Hadestown by Anais Mitchell (Persephone)
I requested Persephone because she's my favorite character and I wanted to be sure of matching on her, but I would be equally happy with an ensemble story or something that expands on the worldbuilding, as long as she's in there somewhere.
I'm fascinated by Persephone's role in the underground and her relationship with Hades. You could write backstory about Persephone and Hades, or something focusing on the role she has in Hadestown. She appears to be giving some relief to the people living in Hadestown, but how much is she "on Hades' side"? I love the bit where she says "there's a crack in the wall", and I'm intrigued by the hints of social unrest in canon. Will there be a revolution in Hadestown? Or, hmm, what is Demeter like in this universe? I also find it interesting that the last song on the album has Persephone and Eurydice singing together. What is their relationship like? I also love the worldbuilding, so anything you do with that would be awesome! Any rating is fine, and given the canon, obviously I'm not expecting happy fluff. Dark themes are fine, although I would love something that's at least hopeful about the possibility for change.
The Deed of Paksenarrion by Elizabeth Moon (Paksenarrion)
Basically, I just love Paksenarrion and want more stories about her. The Paksenarrion books are comfort reading for me, and I love following Paks' character development through the book. I also love that the books are so entirely gen, and that Paks is basically asexual without much fuss being made of it, because that's not what the story is about. So please, no romance or sex involving Paksenarrion!
You could write about one of her quests after the ending of the book, or a glimpse of her when she's older and more experienced. I think my dream story in this fandom would be a fic in which Paksenarrion was older and had a female paladin-candidate, because I have a narrative kink for older woman-younger woman mentor relationships. But if that doesn't appeal to your muse, just go with whatever does! For example, much as I love Paks POV, an outside POV of her would be cool, too--like, someone she inspires during a quest. I'm also fascinated by the Kuakganni, and something involving them would be interesting. I've only read the first book of the recent trilogy, and would prefer something not set around that.
The Hainish Cycle by Ursula K. Le Guin (Laia Asiea Odo)
I recently re-read "The Day Before the Revolution" and it made me cry. I loved the portrait of Laia Odo and want to know more about her! I love the way that Laia is human and imperfect and alive in the story, and not just the one who gave name to the Odonians. It's intriguing how her own upbringing chafes against the ideals she helped create. You could write about her younger days and her relationship with Taviri and with other people in the movement, or more about her as we see her in the short story. An outside POV would be interesting, too. I am also very fond of documentary-type fic, so you could give me some of Laia Odo's writings, either her public writings or her private journal. Or you could write about the oral and written history that gets passed down about her (on Urras or Anarres), and how the stories about her are formed by political considerations. It's actually been many years since I read "The Dispossessed", but I do love it, and I will reread it before Yuletide in case I do get fic for this. : )
Wilby Wonderful (Sandra and Emily Anderson)
I love Sandra and Emily and would love to know more about their relationship! You could write me backstory about Sandra and her youth on Wilby, and why she left it. Or you could write about how they came to move back to Wilby and why. Or about Emily and her future--will she stay on the island when she grows older, or move away? Basically, anything about Sandra and/or Emily or about them interacting will make me happy. Sandra-Duck friendship would also be awesome.
