Heading for the Arctic

1) On Tuesday next week, I'm off to my summer work as a field assistant at a research station in the Swedish mountains in the north. If you want a postcard, send me your address at luzulae@gmail.com. If you already sent me your address, I still have it (sometimes I am organized!). Also, my boyfriend and I bought a better camera (a Nikon D80) so expect better photos this year. Maybe I will finally be able to take decent pictures of purple flowers (a subject which my last camera utterly failed at). And since I'm there so early this year, I'll be able to catch the purple saxifrage and the (likewise purple) Rhododendron lapponicum when they're blooming.

2) Am keeping away from the computer on account of pain in my shoulders and hands, and trying to get healthy exercise instead. Why do so many of the things on my to-do list depend on computers? Arrrrgh. At least I can record podfic (though not edit). Also, I am reading Doc by Mary Doria Russell and enjoying it a lot.

3) tinypinkmouse has recorded Under Berget, the Swedish translation of my post-apocalyptic fairy tale Under the Mountain. It was a charity auction podfic for fund_jcollins, and OMG, it's perfect! tinypinkmouse has a gorgeous accent and the reading style just really suits the story. ♥
