Going back to the source
Sep. 24th, 2008 08:49 pmI just rewatched a dS episode--it's been far too long since I did that, but today I really needed something to help me unwind after teaching. Random (mostly shallow) observations from "Mountie Sings the Blues":
- I cannot believe the angle they filmed Ray's crotch in. You know, when he's sitting on that bench all splaying his legs, and then thrusts his hips a little bit forward. *mesmerized*
- I don't really find Fraser that sexy when he's all buttoned up in the red uniform (as opposed to the brown one--why on earth does he stop wearing that?). But as soon as he's even a little bit ruffled or undressed, it's another matter--like, if he's unbuttoned just the top button of his henley, or his hair is a little bit out of line. I guess it's his buttoned-upped-ness ordinarily that makes this so loaded. And yeah, I'm sure that's not a novel observation, but it kind of struck me anew.
Also, I got a package from
akamine_chan the other day! She sent me, among other things, a book about desert plants, which was just the perfect present for me. &hearts
Oh, and I almost forgot to post about it here--there was fanart made for two of my stories some time back:
love_jackianto made a cover for my werewolf!Fraser story Shifting and another one for Running, the Caroline story set in the same universe. It's so cool that someone was inspired to make art from my stories, and I especially love the Caroline one and how the background is all blurred to suggest that she's running.
Finally, random cute fact: apparently in Siberia, the native people thought earthquakes were caused when one of the sled dogs pulling the earth stopped to scratch itself.
