General update
Jan. 23rd, 2018 10:54 pm1) My Chocolate Box fic is going well, but I ended up not signing up for the Worldbuilding Exchange after all. I mean, it's the first time I do a non-Yuletide exchange at all, better not overdo it, especially as I am quite busy otherwise. I might do a treat for Chocolate Box though.
2) One of my flatmates has started dating a woman with a kid (maybe three years old) who comes along to our apartment, and I find myself bothered by this, and simultaneously feeling selfish for being bothered. : / But I have chosen not have kids myself, and I don't want to live with kids, and I don't feel relaxed hanging out in the living room with this kid running around. So then I retreat into my room. Also tonight I had gone to bed and then the kid started crying. I don't mind if kids visit us occasionally, but they stayed over Saturday-Sunday and now again Tuesday. Maybe I am worrying prematurely about this--I mean, they just started seeing each other and who knows if it is going to last. But it's a potential conflict, and we've really had no conflict since we moved in three years ago. Am I overreacting? Anyone with experience of conflict around kids in shared housing?
3) I just bought new cross-country skis! \o/ My old pair were twenty years old and quite worn out and the ski boots hurt my feet (who knows if it's my feet or the boots that changed--or more likely it's my orthopedic inlays). These skis are broader and have steel edges. I am thinking of going skiing around Easter; I'm really looking forward to it.
