General update

1) Eeee, I wrote 200 words of story! It's been so long (since last Yuletide, in fact, if you don't count drawerfic about me and my long-time crush). Anyway: I have a story in my head, and it feels so good. I'm not going to tell you the fandom, in case it ends up as my Yuletide story--in fact, right now I feel like not signing up for Yuletide and instead giving this as an extra Yuletide gift to someone who requests the fandom. (Obviously because that way it'll get more attention than if I just randomly post it--it's a rare fandom.)

2) I finally sent fanmail to Ursula Le Guin. I've been meaning to do this, and I realized that I better do it now, before it's too late.

3) Re: mountain of remaining translation work, I have asked some people for help, so I won't have to do it all. Which is a good life lesson, I guess: ask for help, if you can't do it all yourself.

4) I have a cold. I had planned go out to pick lingonberries and mushrooms, but nope, not happening. *whines and grumbles*

2. Indeed. I got to fangirl her in person but I bet you can express more without incoherent gushing in a letter.

3. This realization has been resonating all over the place. Today I realized I do much better when I'm part of a team. Still learning things at 60.

1. Nothing wrong with that, no. : P Also the story feels good because it's about original characters (but not an original setting) and so I can channel some RL issues/experiences into it.

2. Oh, I'm so envious you got to fangirl her in person. Although I bet I wouldn't have been able to say much of anything coherent, given the chance.
