Look, I made something fannish!

Title: The Yellow Dress
Author: [archiveofourown.org profile] Ione
Reader: [personal profile] luzula
Fandom: Aubrey/Maturin series - Patrick O'Brian
Characters: Sophie Aubrey, Diana Maturin, Clarissa Oakes, Mrs. Williams, the Aubrey and Maturin children
Rating: PG-13
Length: 1 h 4 m 3 s
Author's summary: Diana is determined to fix Sophie's life...including her hatred of sex. Set in the time of The Yellow Admiral.
Notes: I haven't made much podfic lately, but this story is one that I've thought about recording before, and it was indeed a delight to record. I had entirely too much fun reading Mrs Williams! Thanks to [personal profile] feroxargentea who gave me very helpful beta feedback. Who knew "Cholmondeley" was supposed to be pronounced "Chumlee"? Not me, apparently.

Any British name with more than two syllables or more than three vowels is suspect. "brougham" is prone unwed "broom".

I've only seen the M&C movie: would this fic be comprehensible?

Autocorrect fail! "Prone unwed" should be "pronounced" /o\

And yet somehow you decoded that! Add another language to your impressive collection.

Who knew "Cholmondeley" was supposed to be pronounced "Chumlee"?

This is absurd and offensive, British English. Go to your room and think about what you've done.

*loves*

Also, apologies on behalf of England's unpredictable names :)

(I took my wife's surname on marriage, not to make a political point but simply so I never had to explain how to spell/pronounce my father's surname ever again :)
