Well, that's four hours of my life gone

I just suffered through four hours of excruciating boredom: a family dinner with my parents and an aunt and uncle. My parents are not usually boring, but my aunt and uncle brought out their most boring sides. (Mom, do you have to talk at length about the light fixtures that you ordered specially from Germany? Uncle, do you have to talk about the fancy garage with self-opening doors that you just got built? *stabs fork into brain*) I can usually amuse myself inside my own head when needed (such as during boring seminars) but here I could not, because I had to be polite and nod and smile and whatever. I would have been less bored alone in a cell.

And now I am FREE and can dive into Yuletide instead! Where did those four hours of my life go, I could've been reading Yuletide all that time.

As I posted in my journal, I am...kind of happy to be sick, because it meant I got out of going to my inlaws' for Christmas!

Please enjoy Yuletide. I have already recced some stuff!

That sounds like a good deal! I am not sure being sick would have been worth it for me, because then I could not today go and hang up some banners up in the trees with fellow forest activists.

I do not have a smart phone. My laptop was lying two meters away, singing its siren song.

But soon I will be back among my people--I'm on the train to go and hang some banners up in the trees with fellow forest activists.

I've been browsing Yuletide too. There are some great stories this year! Any favorites?

Yuletide is always good! No stand-out favorite yet, but I have so much left to read. I've been meaning to write up recs, hopefully I will do that before reveals.
