Book advice?

Has anyone read The Kindly Ones by Melissa Scott? I am a third of the way through and though I like the worldbuilding, there just isn't much plot: some people go about their work, then meet up with old friends and go to the theater, then in a seemingly unrelated scene one of them goes to the races. Only, you know, in an SF world. Will there be more plot later? Should I go on reading?

Cool worldbuilding, slow pacing. The plot does kick in later.

Thanks! I guess I'll stick it out a bit longer, then. Although I forgot my ereader at my parents' place so will have to read a paper book now.

I did! It is pretty slow, and not a lot happens, but I don't remember it as if NOTHING happened? I liked it well enough, and I know for sure she doesn't drop the ball, fwiw...

Thanks! Other books came up inbetween and I forgot my ereader at my parents place, etc, but I guess I'll give this another chance when I get around to it.
