Fix things Friday

- Donated to one of the NoDAPL camps.
- Wrote article for union member magazine, about work that's going on in one of the union committees and how people can contribute.
- Submitted critical comments on the draft of the new Swedish FSC standard (an environmental forestry certification). This was a lot of work, although we were short on time for it and I'm not 100 % satisfied. Ah well.
- Wrote reply to op-ed from some forestry dude who thought all nature reserves should be clearcut TO SAVE THE CLIMATE. Yeah, fuck off.
- Replied to a member who wants to start up new local group of environmental organization (yay!). Also lots of other emailing.

The Army Corp of Engineers just announced that they are shutting down all public access to the land the Oceti Sakowin Camp is on as of December 5, and setting up a 'Free Speech Zone' further south where they say emergency personnel will be available to support the protesters over the winter.

Well, shit. I don't know a lot about the NoDAPL thing, but what I've seen reminds me of similar fights in Sweden. Though on a larger scale--I don't think they've put in the army against protesters in Sweden, just the police (well, not since 1931).
