Unfinished goals from last year that I aim to do this year:
  • Change banks (third year's the charm...).
  • Get a tattoo.
  • Make lots of jam in the berry/fruit season.
  • Post 3h of podfic. (This goal is sneakily changed from record 3h to post 3h. This is because I have a long unfinished collaboration which I want to count towards the goal if I manage to finish it...).
  • Write a scientific article together with Senior Scientist Guy from my summer mountain work.
  • Spend 24 hours in a tree.
  • Take part in at least two union negotiations.
  • Record an album with my sister.

Finished goals from last year that I am aiming for again:
  • Make a new friend.
  • Sleep 20 nights outside/in a tent.
  • Go to some activity/meeting which sounds interesting but is out of my comfort zone or that I have never done before.
  • Go swimming in 20 new lakes/places by the sea.
  • Go to one of the Swedish national parks I haven't been to.

Goals from last year that I am developing/changing:
  • At least one fourth of the books I read should be rereads. (Was: read < 1/3 American books, which I did.)
  • Collaborate on research project about forest and climate. (Was: find a new research collaboration/project.)
  • Hold a speech on May Day. (Was: help organize May Day parade. This one is kind of scary! But it would be an interesting challenge, and I do have an idea of what I'd want to say.)
  • Go running 20 times. (Was: weightlift regularly, which I have formed a very good habit for now. I need more aerobic exercise during the non-summer months (in the summer I'm outside all the time anyway). So I'm going to try some low-key running.)

New goals:
  • Try ten new recipes. (I have a fairly large repertoire of meals, but I'd like to enlarge it, and I hardly ever cook from recipes.)
  • Visit my friend Ida for at least a couple of days in the summer (she's my oldest friend, but has two kids now, so it's more of an effort to find the time/place to be with her.)
  • Visit three friends who don't live in my city, that I don't usually visit (I do have four people in mind here, but let's go with three so as not to be overambitious).
  • Delete my gmail accounts (this would involve storing all those years of emails somewhere else).
  • (Re)install Linux on at least one of my computers, hopefully both. (I used to be all Linux, all the time, but my stationary computer kind of broke down and I need to reinstall, and when I got a new laptop it had Windows and the one time I tried to install Linux it didn't work, so I need to get some computer geek advice on it.)
  • Go tree climbing ten times. (I didn't climb as much last year, which I blame the Great Species Contest for, but I want to do it more this year.)
  • Track the butterfly and moth species I see during the year. (I definitely don't have the energy to track All The Species like I did this year, but doing it with one group a year sounds good. And I just started looking at moths this year, so.)
  • Post at least three fanfiction stories.

I notice I have no goals related to my environmental work. I guess this is because I do it all the time anyway, and I had no particular new thing I wanted to do within it. Also, I do have an actual 5x5 bingo card on paper, but I was too lazy to find the code for that online.

Linux! Always a good choice. I'm not a computer geek but I live with a fairly competent one ^^ If you ever get around to trying the install again, feel free to contact me and maybe I can help out. I've got at least some experience with installing Linus on a Windows machine...

I don't know your overall fitness level, but as someone who has fluctuated between "can't get off the couch, literally, because of pain" and "can run more than 5K in a day and be fine" in the last couple of years: I recommend the Zombies, Run! Couch to 5K app if you can handle very mild post-apocalyptic horror. It has real voices that help you increment up from "Run? Me? Never." to "I did it!" over 2 months, and you run to your own playlist interspersed with a storyline & encouragement.

If your laptop is like mine, Windows is sitting on all the available primary partition space (for that reason, of course), and you need to delete one of the primary Windows partitions (choose wisely! Don't choose the Windows loader partion if you want to dual-boot) to be able to create a Linux partition (that partition you can then split into as many secondary partitions as you want).

If this isn't enough info, use a Linux/GParted cd/dvd to post a screenshot of your drive(s) :)

Nice! I'm very slowly working on mine. I like the re-reading goal. I'm not there yet -- I still want to expand my reading repertoire -- but I love rereading and think a goal that specifically encourages it is cool!

Go you! I'm always so impressed by how thoughtful, organized, and reasonable your yearly goals seem.
