So, I needed to rewatch Victoria's Secret as fic research for my Fraser/Victoria story. I just did, and I'm all alone and crying and there's a storm outside the window. That really is one exquisitely crafted piece of angst. I've actually only watched it once before, early in my due South watching, and damn. I just. Oh, Fraser. I love him so much. *cries*

I think I need a hug.

Oh man, I know. I have foggy, foggy memories of when I was, like, fourteen, watching VS as one of the first few episodes of DS I saw. And then it ended. And I thought Fraser died. And I never saw the show again, I didn't even remember what it was called, I just remembered this poor lovely man bleeding to death on the train station. DDDDD:

Watching it again was still traumatic, though at least this time I could watch him survive in the next episode.

God, VS is so powerful. Probably because we so rarely see Fraser doing these things. I mean, the scene where he makes love to her (and she makes love/hate to him, I guess). And the scene at the end when he just lets go and starts running. *whimpers*

Actually, the whole sex scene is insanely hot. I mean, it's pretty common in fic to portray Fraser as naive and hesitant, but here, he really isn't. God. So hot. *loses words*

Yeah, it really is. God, now I'll probably get a headache from the crying.

I really needed to review it for my story, though. It's an AU, so I'm going to have some reworking to do. The basic idea is clear, but I'm really not sure how the details will work out yet.

That episode is hard even for me; I'd been reading fic for a year before I saw it. There's so much of Ben's vulnerability to Victoria which makes the whole series more than a goofy cop show.

Yeah, it's pretty amazing how the show can be so goofy one minute, and then wham comes something like VS. It really does make Fraser's character so much more complex and interesting.

Heh, it says something about how deeply I was into the show just now that I feel weird for talking about him as a fictional character. But if you write about someone as much as I write about Fraser, he should feel like a living person, I think.

I've only watched VS three or four times in all these years. OTOH, I've watched Letting Go approximately one billion times. I have this weird theory that Letting Go can be watched as a dandy stand-alone piece of angst.

Yeah, you definitely don't want to overdose on VS. I didn't watch Letting Go last night, but maybe I will tonight. Because weirdly, being out traveling means I have more time for things like that. Or maybe it's not so weird, seeing as I'm traveling alone and you can't be out doing touristy things all hours of the day.

I'm doing the story for ficfinishing this month, so I'm working steadily at it, but I have no idea if I'll actually be able to finish it in April. I hope so, though.

It really is. It's like they built up the first season for maximum effect, and then put VS at the end like some kind of punch to the gut. Kind of cathartic with all that crying, though.

I actually like angst, even if it makes me sad--it's something about the intense emotions, I think. But watching it all alone was a little much. Good thing I had the internet. *hugs back*
