Dreamwidth and some fannish stuff
May. 1st, 2009 04:55 pmHappy Labour Day everyone! Like everyone else, I now have Dreamwidth. I'm luzula over there, obviously.
If I import my journal entries from LJ, and then make more journal entries on LJ, can I import those to DW later? In a related vein, if I crosspost and consolidate my comments on LJ for now, can I later import those comments? The FAQ does not answer this...I want everything in one place.
I'm hoping that the people who crosspost are going to consolidate their comments in one place or the other, because I hate the thought of fragmented discussions. I'm planning to subscribe to people in one place or the other (but not both), depending on where they want their comments.
I haven't yet imported anything or begun to crosspost, but I eventually will, I suppose.
Also, I have finished my Fraser/Victoria story! It was one of those stories that was really easy to write, and I ended up at 9500 words.
My fandom goals for May are:
1) post due South recs at
crack_van
2) record more rare fandom podfics for
amplificathon
3) work through and post the Fraser/Victoria story, and also the Martha/George story I finished a second draft of for
ficfinishing back in February (btw, I really recommend
ficfinishing if you haven't tried it). I am stubborn, and I will wrestle that story to the ground and win.

Date: 2009-05-01 03:48 pm (UTC)You can re-import your LJ entries to include the new ones -- it'll just overwrite the older ones. However, crossposted entries will be duplicated -- at least, any with a client will, as I'm not sure how DW treats its own xpost.
What I'm going to do, if and when I ever move shop mostly to DW, is delete all the entries back to when I started DW (they have no comments) and then import the comments/entries from LJ. Voila. Then I'd route comments in the other direction.

YAY! I love Fraser/Victoria, even if it is usually angsty like woah. I am really excited to read it now. And you're driving the Crack Van this month? You have a busy, busy month planned!

Date: 2009-05-01 06:25 pm (UTC)Yeah, Fraser/Victoria is kind of unavoidably angsty, but I actually loved writing it. Though I guess it wasn't that unexpected--I mean, I like angst. And hey, thanks for the encouragement! : )
I've written a couple of recs ahead of time, so I hope the reccing won't take up that much time.
