Whew, lots of extra work...

I had to work both this weekend and the whole day yesterday in order to hurriedly revise my exam to give as a home exam, and preparing to give a lecture remotely (including learning how Zoom works, etc). Both those things are now done, and I am taking tomorrow off. After that I'm graaaaading. Would be interesting to know how many students cheated on the exam (by asking someone for help) and how many didn't--they were allowed to use books, internet, etc, though. I will never know.

In other news, I have a slight sore throat; there is obviously no way to know what the cause is, but I will self-isolate as well as I can in an apartment with three other people. : / I am 40 years old and otherwise healthy, so I am at least not in a risk group. I wish you all luck. ♥

Fic at 39,000 words, so at least some things are going well.

I am actually quite lucky in most of what I do for the rest of the spring can easily be done from home--this was (hopefully) a temporary high workload.

To be honest, I told everyone that this was their opportunity to write the best final exam of their lives, and if they had to do it by committee, so be it.

And nobody is getting less than a B anyway, because good god, what kind of person is going to seriously expect these poor kids to be on their game during a time like this!

My course is one where ordinarily about half the students who take the exam don't pass it. I'll report back when I've graded this one, it'll be interesting to see what the results are...

Good to hear of your fic progress, too—it must be a sizeable proportion of the length of the book itself by now :D

I just hit 40,000 words. : ) And of course I had to check--the book itself is 128,000 words. So yeah, the length of my fic is now 31% of the book's length. *boggles*

But I don't have that much more to go now! Final length should be around 45,000 words?

Hmm it is weird that we have all aged since I got into fandom and I must say I am not a fan. I feel this way any time one of my friends says their age. Best of luck with your isolation. <3

It's such a strange experience to have had a six-year writing drought, and now be writing 1,000 words a day. Definitely not complaining though--it is lovely. : )
