If you're contemplating reading this without having read canon: you can probably figure out what's going on from context, but the story branches off from canon rather late, and assumes the relationship that has developed between Keith and Ewen in canon, so you'll be missing that backstory. (And come on, why would you not want to read canon! It's so great!)

I wrote this in three months of feverish writing after falling in love with the book--it felt more like something that was writing itself through me than something I wrote, and it's by far the longest thing I've written.
