Mific made me the most wonderful Flight of the Heron art!

So, mific has made me Flight of the Heron fan art! It is absurdly lovely, and I keep looking at it and smiling like a loon. More specifically, it's a map for my first longfic, inspired by the map in the first edition of the book, and also by the Roy military survey maps from the 1750's. Here it is (click through for bigger version):



mific also made me a lovely stylized thistle, similar to the thistles in the first edition map, that I'm going to use for bookbinding layouts. And of course I'll put this map in when I bind the longfic that it's an illustration for, too. Thank you so much for this! ♥ ♥

Yes! I also got a greyscale version, which might print better. We'll see. But it's not next in line among my bookbinding projects, though, because I hope to write a sequel first, which I want to include in the book too...

Ha, well, I haven't got it planned out yet, much less started on it--it's basically just the events of GitN, playing out in that AU...

That sounds very interesting! Especially in that AU—it's not just 'what if Keith was still there in GitN?', which already has a lot of potential, you've also got the whole background of Ewen having been tried and escaped with his life and property thanks to Keith's help, and now Archie goes through the same thing...

Yes, I think there's a lot of potential there with Ewen's background, as you say! And there would be issues of divided loyalties for both Ewen and Keith, as well as a much less convoluted way for Ewen to get help from the Earl of Stowe. You are welcome to help me plot it out when I've finished my present longfic... : )
