General update
Jun. 27th, 2021 09:59 pmOops, I haven't posted in two weeks, mostly because I had lots of work in the week leading up to my vacation, and my hands were hurting. But my graaaaaading is now done! I am on vacation! \o/
I've spent the past two weeks at the family summer place with my parents. Our new vegetable beds that we made last year are doing great; the potatoes and squash and onions love the old silage that we made the beds with, and I made delicious rhubarb cordial. We had a heat wave that reached 31 degrees Celsius, but at least I could sit naked in the shade down by the lake and do my graaaading there, and go swimming periodically. Now we are going sailing for a week instead, which should also be lovely.
Also I got my first covid jab five days ago! Felt nothing but a slight soreness in my arm. I am so relieved that I will be fully vaccinated by the time the autumn term begins, because it's back in the physical classroom for us (if nothing unforeseen happens).
We found one new housemate, who seems great, even if we took him in on the strength of a Zoom interview. He's a trans guy from Spain who plays classical piano and likes climbing. I feel a little better about things on that front now.
I have also worked on editing my 142K poly fic, and don't have much left to go. I am feeling a strange sort of pre-emptive melancholy that someday I will not be writing with such inspiration. This is ridiculous, as I just started on another longfic (the next entry in That Good Faith, which is about what would happen in this AU when the events of Gleam in the North come around), and have got 6,400 words into it! And I have more ideas after that, too. It is also ridiculous because I know that my obsessions are serial in nature, even if they cycle round again, and once I am into something, I never completely abandon it. When I am not writing as intensively, it will no doubt be because I am happily doing something else instead, such as geeking out about mosses. But still, I do so very much enjoy this intense creativity. ♥

Date: 2021-06-28 10:34 am (UTC)Yeah, I also have those cycling obsessions, and it can be a bit sad when one goes away for a bit—but they do come back round, and it certainly sounds as though your intense FotH writing is still going strong! I'm glad you're enjoying it, anyway :) (and still making lots of great new fic for me to read, obviously :D)
