I am done with the draft of the next entry in my That Good Faith series, woohoo! It is a rewriting of Gleam in the North (the sequel of Flight of the Heron) as it might have been if Keith was present. The draft is 48,900 words, so not quite 50K. But hey, the whole series will be above 100K. : D

My plan is to edit and post it this month, before I have to get working on whatever my eventual Yuletide assignment will be.

After that I have further writing plans! I have one more FotH longfic idea, which I estimate will be at least 80K: it's an AU where Ewen and Alison get married in Edinburgh, and Alison then goes along with the army, as indeed not a few women did. Eventually there will be Keith/Ewen/Alison. This story idea is very satisfying because I had at least two free-floating plot ideas which I didn't quite know what to do with, which will slot very nicely into this one as plot elements.

I do have some other FotH ideas as well, but they'll probably be shorter stories (where my baseline for "shorter" is now 20K or so, ha ha).

Continuing to be so impressed with your ability to write A LOT of high-quality story at a steady rate; that's wonderful. (Also how did Yuletide sneak up on us this way....)

It's such a delight when this happens!

I've never encountered it in US English.

And yes that meaning evoked thumping a bottle with growing irritation until presto! Tomato soup

Oh, I understood what you meant! I did not know it was an actual Swedish idiom, though, I love it. We have this family nursery-rhyme thing, made up by a ?second-cousin of mine (not at all Swedish as far as I know), "open up the ketchup bottle/none'll come, and then a lot'll."

Wahey, well done! That is a very impressive amount of longfic—though I do also look forward to seeing what your 'shorter' ideas are :D

I wondered about the werewolf AU from time to time - glad it's still simmering away! And the others sound like good fun, too.
