Today, I am feeling accomplished.

I know I don't often make RL posts (in fact, this is the first), but as of today, I am FINISHED with my PH D THESIS. The subject, should anyone be interested, is weighted integral formulas on complex manifolds (yes, that's in mathematics). It feels like it's taken forever--the last few days I've mostly been proofreading, and I'll be reading something like

We first define the tautological vector bundle H, which is a sub-bundle of the trivial rank N-bundle C^N --> X, such that the fiber of H above p is the k-plane in C^N corresponding to the point p.

and then I'll realize that my brain has zoned out and is instead thinking something like "I wonder if there's left-over cake from the statistics seminar" or "Mmm, Benton Fraser naked". But I have now finally turned it in for printing, and I'll defend it in January.

Thank you, and yes, it is a relief. I suspect I would feel uncomfortable with the Dr. title, though. : )
