My own gift was written by dreamofhope, who (as I expected) is not anyone I know. I wrote no less than four stories for this exchange! I was assigned The Left Hand of Darkness, to thepersiancat, whom I also didn't know. I first started writing to the prompt "Something which links religion and personal beliefs to the everyday life." But then I couldn't manage to make it a trick, and that part of the sign-up is binding, so I had to write a second one! Which ended up being better, I think. The Left Hand of Darkness is now my third-most written fandom, going by number of stories!

And then sanguinity went to pinch hit, and I picked it up. But it being my very first pinch hit (ever, I think?) I didn't pay sufficient attention to when the deadline was, and so it went to pinch hit AGAIN. /o\ After I finished that, I wrote a spontaneous little treat for regshoe, who wasn't even signed up for the exchange.

Yay! for LHoD fic. I just re-read it yet again. I swear I find something different in it every time, and Estraven's fate still makes me cry, every time.

Yeah, that book is a keeper for sure! My copy is falling apart, perhaps I should get a new one. And yes, there's so much in it: that ice journey, the love story, the thinky thoughts about nationalism and war.

Awww, thanks! Hmm, I don't know whether it's my experience with northern climes or not? It is my favorite Le Guin book, though, for multiple reasons. <3
