Long day yesterday, including two hours of board meeting for my environmental organization in which we got asymptotically closer to getting a policy for setting salaries, after which I had a headache. So no fic writing, but I did write a DW post (selkies ftw).

Day 5, cont'd: only 500 words on the linguistics sci fantasy, sigh, but some words are better than no words. I had to deal with a bunch of errands plus the fact that, er, I left off my string quartet + bassoon chamber piece homework until the last minute. *facepalm*

I think that's still a good wordcount though, considering errands etc! \o/

Thanks, it's just the way it is. You want to save old-growth forests, but due to the complexity of the world, that means you spend hours on salary policies.

Day 5: Finished polishing the Yuletide fic and sent it to beta!

Assuming the goal is to one day have an honest-to-god written-down and existing policy, "asymptotically closer" does not sound at all encouraging. No wonder you had a headache after!

A fitting icon. Hopefully I was exaggerating and we will actually get a policy at the end of this, but I was feeling a little downcast. It's just...the complexity of the world, you know? You want to save old-growth forests, but to do that you need all sorts of other things, some of them boring and some contentious (and some both).

Another chunk of words, yay! And cheerleading as well. \o/

There's just so much goddamned detail work that goes into saving the world, and it has to be done carefully and conscientiously, and none of it is fun.

(I mean. It's possible to have fun along the way. And thank goodness for the people who legitimately enjoy writing good policy! But in general, oof.)

Congrats to you on sticking it out -- may you someday have a successful policy!

Day 5: 400 words so far, but might get more - yesterday, I had about 300 words until just before going to bed, and then an idea hit me and I wrote a short fix-it fic to the movie we'd just seen. ;op

Dec 5th - a 675-word challenge ficlet. Then I had to stop writing and work on a birthday card that needs to be finished by Thursday... Eep!

Thanks! It was kind of an emergency situation. Last time I was out I was so proud of myself for remembering to get my friend's Christmas card. Then a few days later I realised his birthday comes first and I didn't get a birthday card. So then it was a mad rush to make one. Just managed it.

Day 5: Finished up canon review! Now I have a lot of notes and in theory that means the actual fic planning/writing will be easier! :D
