Well, sometimes a deadline makes you productive: my beta reader ideally wanted my Yuletide treat yesterday, and so in a heroic burst of writing I added 2,000 words to it and got to the end! It's barely alpha-read, but I sent it off. Of course today I'm paying for it with stiff shoulders... How is your writing going?

20: sometimes doing more research means gotta scrap a funny line about wanting to avoid hat hair, bc it turns out going outside with uncovered skin in that city within a month in either direction of the date of this event is asking for frostbite; yeah he's canonically only seen with less-than-perfect hair when he's been either exercising for hours or out drinking all night, yeah he's never been seen wearing anything even vaguely hatlike that isn't a flower crown, and yeah it's funny to have him say he's Russian and therefore immune to cold, but he is not going to risk frostbite

and sometimes doing more research means the flight I'd already decided for other reasons that this character is taking turns out to be a characterization choice with some weight to it, bc it's on a low-cost airline (and booking intercontinental flights day-of and business- or first-class is something he has canonically already done without seeming to give a moment's thought to the expense, and someone did a meta that concluded that—even with that and other big-ticket impulse purchases he makes onscreen—he's more than familiar with money stress and he's made sure he'll never have to worry about money again, and nonetheless in canon he is content to fly coach when doing so eases his boyfriend's money stress), and also turns out to be much funnier, bc exactly two airlines use Terminal 2 at KIX bc even most of the low-cost airlines prefer the higher operating cost of using Terminal 1, bc if it's raining when passengers are going between Terminal 2 and their plane, the airport lends them umbrellas

also I found what chapter 2 was missing and I fixed it, but I am still trying to figure out how to get chapter 3 to get going
