25 December: Edited and posted the Yuletide drabble. Highlander fest day 4, mulled over a new ficlet idea inspired by a couple of comments, and wrote another verse of the poem started a couple of days ago. I also had a lovely time with friends.

That's a very valid counting of words in general, and during familiy-intense holidays in particular!
Day 25: I ended up writing a chunk of fic on top yesterday, so my overall tally is 774 words. Now I'm off celebrating more, too, with our closest friends/chosen family B&G - we're spending one of the Christmas days or the 27th with them since decades.

Goal for the 26th is to write 3000 words, which is about 6 times my normal average and I believe more than I ever wrote in a single day, so that's a little pie-in-the-sky :D I started using a new text editor (Obsidian--it's great!) and installed a word sprint plug-in, so maybe that will help.

Day 26: Some more Yuletide comments; and the first few paragraphs of a new fic which I didn't have time to write for Yuletide! I'm experimenting with trying to reduce time spent using screens by hand-writing more of my first drafts, so I hand-wrote these words—going well so far.

Day 26: so far, 500 words on linguistics sci fantasy. Breaking for 2D animation exercise, then fencing, although in my case this may mean practicing against the EFT (electronic fencing target) from seated if my ankles complain, lol; I'll finish up another 500 words afterward, I hope. :)
