I don't think anyone has written more of Keith's journals than we get in canon--I'd love to read that! Do any of the other characters keep a journal? Do any of the canon events (or events in some AU of canon) end up in any newspapers? Do future historians write articles about Keith and Ewen (and if so, do the 21st century historians argue with the 19th century ones)? Or you could write me any of the characters above corresponding.

Or some fork in the road AU – perhaps Aymar leaves the country in despair, and Laurent writes to him? Or perhaps Avoye learns the news of Aymar’s trial by means of letter? Or perhaps you could write the letter which Laurent threatened to write to M. Perrelet?

Would love any sort of documentary fic--I'm sure Hornblower's exploits end up in the newspapers. How does he react to how public opinion views him? Do he and Bush both look for news of the other in the papers when they're apart? I love it when Bush's sisters turn up in fic, and would love to read correspondence between him and them. Or perhaps one of the characters keeps a journal?
Things I enjoy in general: fork-in-the-road AU:s, historical specificity and period language, outside POV, the way that letters are often constrained so that characters have to hint at their feelings or might feel the need to project some image of themselves.
Things I don't enjoy: Change-of-setting AU in historical canons (but I love canon divergence, and I also enjoy adding supernatural/fantasy elements to the canon setting), non-con/dubcon, infidelity, body horror. Please treat canonical female love interests kindly, if they appear in the fic.
