Wilby Wonderful, yay!
Apr. 3rd, 2008 10:34 pmI've finally gotten around to watching Wilby Wonderful! This was instead of packing for my dogsledding trip, so I'll have to do that tomorrow. I liked the movie a lot--it was just very human, and I liked how slow it was. There were moments when I went "awww" and others when I went "yay!!" and others where I was making worried noises. I loved how the camera went wandering during tense scenes so we couldn't see what happened.
It didn't immediately make me want to write, though. I guess I just need to feel that I've known characters a while before I try that.
Tomorrow at work I will abuse my printing privileges and print out some of the WW stories
nos4a2no9 recced, to take with me on my 24 hour train journey. I have other unread goodies, as well, like
china_shop's The Sweet Hereafter, and a selection of Yuletide fics. Mmm, I like overnight train journeys. I'll try to do some longhand writing, too.
Also, I have lately been writing genderfuck Fraser/Thatcher set in S2. That pairing just suddenly became interesting (and hot) to me when I turned Fraser into a woman. Yeah, one more WIP. Of course, I also have a WIP which is pretty close to completion, so it evens out...

Ha, and you thought you could predict my writerly interests! *g* Yeah, it sort of came out of the blue, but it's interesting to explore how Fraser would react to becoming a woman, and contrasting that with Thatcher, who's been a woman in a male-dominated environment for a long time.
