Yuletide nominations + linkage
Oct. 15th, 2010 10:50 am1) My Yuletide nominations are:
Anais Mitchell's album "Hadestown"
the Townes van Zandt song "Pancho and Lefty"
Kim Stanley Robinson's "Mars" trilogy
Kipling's "Jungle Books"
Elizabeth Moon's "Paksenarrion" trilogy
the traditional Child ballads
I know for sure that I'm going to be requesting the first two fandoms; I haven't decided about the rest (I'm not even sure whether one gets three or four requests). This will be my first year, and I'm sure I'll be nervous at some future point, but not yet.
I'll probably post and tell you more about my first nomination soon, because it's fascinating music with great lyrics that more people should know about (and obviously because I want fic for it).
2) If you're interested in Generation Kill, I posted a podfic of
lunasky's Free Falling Through the Nighttime Sky (Brad/Nate, NC-17, about 1h 30m). Am in the process of recording an awesome due South fic.
3) I wrote a drabble over in
petra's journal. It's Frannie/OFC, and I was pleased because it is the first genuine comment-fic that I've written. It usually takes me some time to write, so I'm not used to something just popping out so quickly.

Thanks for the info! I probably won't offer that many fandoms beyond my required three--I'm still surprised every time I write something that isn't due South. I hope I can find some inspiration for whatever I'm assigned to write. And I wish you luck in finding inspiration, too!
