Well done for words ion a bust day!

Dec 3rd - 1421 words. Another bitty day. Editing on two more ficathon fills, an expanded 1character sentence, a drabble and a double drabble, and, finally, some progress on the long fic I'm trying to finish. Currently over 8.8k, which is long for me, and still not finished.

It may have been bitty, but it adds up! That's a lot of words. : )

I thought I'd be writing less this month, but everything is conspiring so that I'm writing MORE! Go figure. What even IS my brain?

I steam-cook them, then fry in butter and season them with salt and a little molasses. Mmmm.

Dec 3. Words!

I love how brussel sprouts grow on a great big long club. Suitable for bashing one's brother with (which is quickly becoming a Thanksgiving tradition in our family).

We like to roast ours, and dress with maple syrup and bacon -- tasty!

I thought I didn't like brussel sprouts because my mother used to boil all her vegetables.

I have since learned the appeal of maple syrup and bacon sprouts and I will never look back.

I am informed that we will be experimenting with a new recipe this go: roasting them with gochujang. I imagine that also will prove tasty!

Hee. The clubs on ours are still in the ground and I don't think I have anyone in my vicinity I'd like to bash enough to pull them up.

I usually steam-cook them, then fry in butter and season them with salt and a little molasses. The molasses probably contribute a similar taste as maple syrup.

Our CSA delivers them still on the stalk. On the one hand, you can do all the finicky business of cutting each sprout free of the stalk in the warmth and comfort of one's own home. I would say "on the other hand, one has to find something capable of cutting through that woody stalk", but then I imagine the CSA people out their swinging machetes around, and revise my opinion: that, too, goes in the plus column of bringing them inside to harvest. ;-)

Fried with butter, salt, and molasses also sounds tasty!

I imagine it saves the CSA some labor to deliver them on the stalk, as well as letting the recipients learn more about how it grows.

If I were to cut it off, I would use loppers. : ) (A word I learned just now by looking it up; it's literally "branch scissors" in Swedish.) And leave the roots in the ground, because it's beneficial for the soil.
